What is photography?
What makes it work, what contributes to truly special images?
I have been working on this for a while now. I need this simple! I carry around umpteen lenses, there are LOTS of f-stops represented, my newest camera has more ISO settings than this galaxy has planets . . . I need this simple enough to keep meaningful in my head!
What is photography? What makes it work, what contributes to truly special images?
I think I have worked it down to three concepts. As best as I can see, everything else fits under one of these three things. This is important: photos involving serious attention to less than all three of these three categories tend to suffer; if you apply only one concept or less, the photograph will probably really suck!
So here they are (Click on the concept to see a webpage about it):
What we are going to do from here is discuss each of these three concepts individually, in an effort to have it all make sense. Click on the concept above to go to the page specializing in each concept . . . and, have fun!
